Miller’s Opening Night
A Children’s Dream
Miller’s Opening Night is the story of a little mouse family — Frank, Julia and their young son Miller, who all live in an abandoned theater in Augusta, Georgia. They carry with them the strong hope that one day Miller will become a star and help reopen the once beautiful theater. It’s a story of dreams, aspirations, and possibilities. Anyone — young or old — will relate to the characters in this tale.
A most interesting feature of the book is that it’s based on the real-life campaign to reopen the beautiful, historic Miller Theater in Augusta, Georgia, closed since 1985. Author Levi Hill says that there are many aspects of realism in this story as feelings of doubt and disappointment have at times challenged the team in its efforts to restore the landmark in downtown Augusta.
With every copy of the book you buy, you’ll be helping young Miller travel across the country to tell his story of life growing up in theater. Along with your purchase, you’ll become a member of the Let’s Do Something Big Team to support the Miller’s restoration and a donation is made to the Miller Theater campaign for you or your child.
Follow Miller’s trek across the country and watch as new “pins” appear on the map in every city where he tells the story. Wanna see a pin in your own hometown? — Buy a Book, Join the Team!
Once the theater reopens, plan to make the pilgrimage to Augusta, Georgia and find your name displayed in the Miller as one of the many Let’s Do Something Big Team members who helped to make it happen.
